Bonjour a tous
Le refrain de la chanson a été préparé avec Johanne, l'assistante de français. Pourraient ils gagner X-Factor? A vous de juger...
Ce blog a été lancé pour raconter ce qu'il se passe a l'école de Portlethen dans le département de langues. Look through the Archive section on the bottom right to find out the relevant section.

Listening Skills
A lot of you will find these websites usesul as they provide lots of exercise to practise your listening skill.
1) Lucas, a British journalist, wakes up in a hotel room with the mother of all headaches. He can’t remember a thing. Room service brings him breakfast and a parcel containing 20,000 euros, a Walkman® with a minidisc and a note: "A bientôt, Nadia". So, he must be in Paris, but who’s this Nadia? Next, a police officer asks him to come to the station… Is he an accomplice or a victim of a crime? Lucas decides to trust no-one and to carry out a private investigation – rather a tall order for someone who has lost his memory and doesn’t speak French beyond "bonjour" and "au revoir".

2)Eva finds herself in a race against time and an enemy who wants to return France to the era of Napoleon III and restore the Second Empire. Her goal: to save the French Republic from its downfall.

Les radios!!!!

Time to change!!!
Are you fed up with Radio One? Are you bored with Chris Moyles’ jokes and don’t find find Scott Mills funny?
Well, it is time for a change. Down here, you have the best radio from Belgium, Switzerland and France.
I must admit that I am particularly keen on Couleur 3, radio from Switzerland. Their schedule is brilliant, and variety is pretty amazing. Couleur 3 will help you to widen your musical horizons, and impress your friends when playing “guess that tunes” :)
Feel free to listen to them in your spare time when doing your homework for examples.
In order of preference:

http://www.lemouv.com/ from France

http://pure.fm/index.php from Belgium

S4 revision Prelim / exams
With the prelims approaching, I thought you might want to revise a bit more than usual, that's why I prepared some work for you.
Find a section you fancy working on and open the related Word documents. You will have questions at the end of the documents.
This website is the SQA website. Spend time on the papers you haven't done. Choose the subject you want to study from the list. Intermediate 1 is a good training if you do General / Foundation and Intermediate 2 is for Credit pupils.
This is a good way to study Listening.
Answers should be submitted via email to Mr Buré or Miss Urquhart.
